Hard anodizing is an advanced oxidation method that forms an oxide layer 10-100 microns thick on the aluminum alloy surface. This oxide layer has very high hardness and wear resistance and can effectively protect the aluminum alloy surface from external environmental attack. The hard anodizing process involves immersing aluminum alloy parts in an electrolyte containing sulfuric acid and an oxidizing agent, and forming an oxide layer on the surface entirely through the electrolytic reaction.
